Having lived in East Texas most of my life, my husband, Bruce, and I moved to Longview in 1991, then to Lake Cherokee in 2003. We have a son, a daughter and a grandson, and are members of The Church at Lake Cherokee. East Texas is truly the most beautiful place to live, but it also offers so much in the way of the arts, medical care, education, sports and outdoor activities.

The real estate market has been a passion of mine for many years. Although I am a newly licensed real estate agent, I have followed and invested in real estate as a hobby and as an investement means for over twenty years. Trends and market fluctuations come and go, but there is no greater long-term investment value than your investment in real estate. Accordingly, there is enormous personal value in your home. $8000 Tax Credit

$8,000 Home Buyer Tax Credit at a Glance

  • The tax credit is for first-time home buyers only.
  • The tax credit does not have to be repaid.
  • The tax credit is equal to 10 percent of the home’s purchase price up to a maximum of $8,000.
  • The credit is available for homes purchased on or after January 1, 2009 and before December 1, 2009.
  • Single taxpayers with incomes up to $75,000 and married couples with incomes up to $150,000 qualify for the full tax credit.
